Trek Assessment #1

In Trek 01, I chose to record sound clips near the lake front and around the Eastside, mainly around Prospect Avenue. It was really frustrating when I first started because every sound I recorded included cars in the background. That was extremely irritating because none of my sounds were clear and focused. I thought my clips would be total failures. I resorted to finding spots that were quieter and farther away from people. Another technique I resorted to was closer micing that was more focused on intimate sounds. I also incorporated the cars into a sound clip of construction in a meaningful way, so the trek proved to be successful after all.

In Trek 02 I wanted to focus a lot on light shinning through nature. This proved to be more difficult than I had imagined. A lot of times, light glares happen by chance and by accident. I found it to be rather difficult at times to actually capture this glaring light. I was hard to find and hard to keep in view of the lens.
